You are invited to Public Workshop #3 regarding compatibility planning for the area surrounding Fort Sill.
The workshop is part of the ongoing development of the Joint Land Use Study (JLUS) to address compatibility planning between Fort Sill and the surrounding communities. The Association of South Central Oklahoma Governments (ASCOG) in partnership with Fort Sill, local jurisdictions and agencies and organizations in the region, is preparing the Joint Land Use Study (JLUS) to address compatibility and land use planning around Fort Sill with the goal of achieving a balance between sustaining and supporting mission needs of Fort Sill with protecting opportunities for community growth, economic viability and quality of life.
The JLUS will assess 25 compatibility factors, identify existing and potential issues, and propose strategies to address the issues. The compatibility factors include, but are not limited to:
- Coordination and Communication
- Energy Development
- Land Use
- Safety Zones
Please come to this workshop to learn about and provide input on the compatibility issues that have been identified for the Joint Land Use Study (JLUS) and to identify any issues not yet considered. To develop a plan that is responsive to local needs, input from the community is essential. Your input is encouraged!
